Yesterday, I knit 2 rows.

Well. Not much knitting got done this weekend, what with all the spinning and vegetable garden building.

What? Vegetable garden? THIS vegetable garden!

This was just a crummy patch of ground in the back yard... we put in the raised beds, dug out a bunch of rocks, got some screened loam, and then put a wire fence around it (hopefully to keep out deer and boxer dogs). Not an easy job - about 8 hours of work.
I planted a bunch of stuff in there (it's 16' X 5')... carrots, beets and pole beans from seed, and then tomatoes, peppers, summer squash, cauliflower, pumpkin, cukes and strawberries.
We even added that sprinkler hose for ease of watering! This location gets about 7 - 8 hours of morning sun, I'm hoping it's perfect for the garden, but time will tell. It's an experiment - but I sure hope a successful one after all this work.

Can wait to see how this fares over the summer.... I'm sure more gardening updates to come.

It looks wonderful. We grow tomoatoes and stuff in the front amoug all the perrenials and flowers. They do well and the neighbors no longer find it odd.
