I'm here at work. Pretty much all this week and next. I am taking the 27th of (a 'floating' holiday, since Christmas is on Saturday). But pretty much everyone else is off. So, the constant phone calls and instant messages have stopped. I don't have people stopping by my desk every few minutes. It was great at first. The first couple days, I was kicked back, organizing stuff, doing little things that I haven't had time to do.
Now I'm bored. Enter in the amazing progress on my Ribby Cardi. Instead of working though lunch, I've been able to sit down and knit. That makes at least one hour of my day go by faster!
I took the picture below with the finished sleeve, so you can see my color choices together. They are growing on me. I'm at about 9 inches on the back, and I think I'm going to go to 15 inches. I've made the whole deal significantly wider by using 4.25 stitches to the inch instead of 4.75. I'm glad that plan is working out... I was nervous that I was making this super snug cardigan that I would never wear - so I tried this little trick*.
The only other exciting this to report is non-knitting news. Aaron got me a dvr (like tivo, but from Comcast) for Christmas! I'm so excited. I'm recording every CSI and Law and Order I can get my hands on... so that if I'm knitting on a day when TV selection is sucky, I'll have options! YEAH!
* This trick has only worked successfully for me a few times before. Once, I made this super-wide, but way too short cotton sweater, which my husband made worse by washing it in hot water. Not only is he shorten the sweater even more, but the color bled out onto everything else he washed with it. It was horrible.
