Lizzy Uptis!

My knitting friend, Amanda (one of the many hobbies we share) bought a new condo. About a month ago. Just as she moved in, I was in the 'I want to knit a Latvian Mitten' phase of knitting. So I bought the book by Lizbeth Uptis.

In a proof that the world is truly a small place, we find out that Lizbeth Uptis lives not only in the same building, but the same floor! Unbelievable, no? And to make it EVEN BETTER she is opening a new fiber arts studio on the very same street as Amanda lives on.

Tonight is the Grand Opening. And we are going. We'll try to be cool and not run over and gush over how much we love her and her fabulous designs! But I'm so excited to go! I even wrote an e-mail to Stephanie of Yarn Harlot fame, and she is super jealous...

I promise to give a full report tomorrow.

As for the Star Sampler, you can see below that I have it all together, except for the borders. It is doing a weird 'puffing' of fabric at one part, so I need to work on it a bit more. But I love it!
