You may wonder, why Cece, are you working on a hat? You were so close to finishing your Ribby Cardi!
Ah, it's a sad tale. I was knitting along on my Ribby Cardi over the weekend. I finished the back, and started the front. I finished the left front, and as I was taking my needles off (I use Denise Interchangables) to switch to the 'smaller' needles for the ribbing, I noticed that I never switched from the smaller to the larger in the first place. Well, I thought, that isn't a big deal. I measured the left front, and it wasn't TOO much off, so I was going to preserver. I started the right front. Without changing to the larger needles when the time came. Happily knitting along. I was having some reservations about how I interpreted the decreases for the collar, but blissfully kept knitting.
Then I checked in with the Ribby-a-long. Someone posted a picture of her decreases for the collar, stating that she thought they looked 'funny'. And I smiled smugly to myself and thought 'Yes, your front looks nothing like my front."
Then I read the comments. Many people wrote in and said that was exactly what their front looked like also. And that she should look at the pattern drawing and she would feel much better. So I looked at the pattern drawing, and felt much worse.
The knitting gods are telling me that it is time to just rip out the two fronts and start over. Which I will do. But I can't bring myself to do that just yet.
So, I'm working on a hat. Tune in tomorrow for pictures of Cece Swimming in the Frog Pond.
