Quilting fun

As I mentioned yesterday, last night was my Quilt Class. A bunch of us (we met in a beginners class at Quilters Way)get together about 2 times a month to quilt together. We like to pick out a project, and then watch as each person makes something very different just by a fabric choice.

Anyway - we picked a rather complicated Star Sampler, and I had SUCH a tough time with the memory block last time we all got together. But yesterday, when I attempted it for the second time, it was easy-peezy! Sometimes I notice that when you get all worked up about something, you make it much harder than it really is. See the fabulous finished blocks in the picture below!

Getting together with all my quilting friends makes me excited for next weekend, when I'm going on a quilting weekend in Portsmouth! Karen, the same women who does our class is throwing this weekend, and I'm super excited. We will first be going to Portsmouth Fabric for a field trip (fabric shopping, always fun), and then the rest of the weekend will be quilting! I'm going to work on my silk patchwork jacket from the fabric I got in China... which is exciting for me.

In knitting news, I pulled out the Super Cute Baby sweater to finish it up last night after my class. It's a good thing that I put it down for a little bit... the coffee stain is barely noticeable. I just need to sew it together. And, for some reason, I had Addy's birthday at the 7th... when it is really on the 9th. No problem getting that done in time.
