Dr. Knitgood

Everyone says that we are our on worst critics. In my case - that is totally true. The weather here is rainy and cold, so today I wore my new Mohair Sweater. I put it on, and checked myself out in the mirror - and thought "Geez. This looks crappy". But forced myself to wear it anyway - since I spent so much time making it. Well, since I've been at work, about 5 people have stopped me to check out my sweater - and some have said that it is their favorite out of all the sweaters I've made! That makes me smile.

In addition to that, I went out with a bunch of people from my most favorite yarn store (The World in Stitches, in Littleton, MA) for dinner last night - and after dinner we returned to the store to do some knitting. I had brought my mittens for the glove-along with me, in plans of ripping them out. I just thought they looked funny - and wanted to try something different. Everybody convinced me that I was being silly. Which is a good point - really - what are your mitten making options, unless you are going to do some Fairisle? I will surely be going to that get together again - I had a BLAST. It's a fun, nice group of people - and they are all making really neat things. S is making this really great Shoalwater shawl from Fiber Trends that I loved - so I got the pattern (Thanks L!) and brought some really great yarn (can't find a good link - it's called Knitaly Print by Colorado Yarns, blue, green and purple - just the right colors for Ocean Waves, I thought) for it - I'm thinking it's the perfect plane project for my trip.

And THEN. I got an e-mail from Amanda - she is done with my sweater! How exciting is that. Damn, that girl knits fast. We are going to get together on Saturday for some apple picking - so I'll post pictures of that when I get it.

A good knitting day all around.

Tonight I'm off to my quilt class...we are doing a complicated star square tonight, and were supposed to cut the fabric before hand as homework. I just remembered this morning. Whoops.
