WIP Classifications

I'll post pictures later, but I finished Lexi's Sparkley scarf today. It really looks great. I stuck with my original idea to have it be 60 inches long... I think it's perfect! I'm really glad that I decided to make this, even though I hate the scarf making process, the finished product in this case looks really groovy.

Now, I have much excitement about the length of my WIP list.

1. Novelty yarn scarf for my Mother-in-law
2. The Ribby Cardi
3. The Bpt cardigan

Two forgotten WIPS

4. The Shoalwater Shawl
5. The Latvian Mitten

In the wings is the hat for Sue. I'm going to see her on Sunday at a Gingerbread house decorating party... so I'll measure her head then.

That list is totally manageable, and actually falls into my goal (almost) of having just the right project for the right moment. Here are the categories:

The Bring-me-anywhere project. This type of project can fit in a reasonably sized bag, and also can be done without looking at a pattern, and to TRULY fit the criteria, can also be worked on in the dark (for movie knitting or late night car rides). Right now, the MIL scarf.

The Mid-level Complicated Project. You need to look at a pattern every once in a while, but you can easily watch TV, etc while working on this. (Bpt Sweater)

The Need to Lose My Mind in Knitting project. These are for when life is very stressful, and you don't want to think about anything just then. Also helpful if the project is super fun to look at while knitting to cheer you up at the same time. (The Shoalwater Shawl and the Latvian Mitten)

The Easy Project. This something also for when watching tv and for long drives. And, on my WIP progress list, that's the Ribby Cardi!

Rock on. For a bit I was worried about knitting ADD (phase coined by Kristine at Digital Yarn) but I'm back at a more reasonable 'work load'.

*can you call stuff that you do for FUN a "Work Load"?*
