Birthday, birthday, birthday!

Well - my birthday didn't go as planned. My mother has the flu and a fever - so I still made my trip to Webs, and got some great yarn (the Circus) and buttons. I got beautiful glass buttons for my mohair sweater. I then drove to my Mom's house in CT and we hung out a bit (she still had a fever), went shopping, and then had dinner out. Mostly, it was just a low key day. Then, this morning - we did breakfast together - and I drove home.

I'd been working on my Mohair sweater, and was almost done, but ran out of yarn. Bleh. I hate it when that happens. I called my LYS (The World in Stitches) and they actually had a ball of yarn in the same color AND dye lot. What are the odds? I didn't even buy that yarn there! So that was cool. And then, I got some Manos Del Uruguay for this awesome cape in the fall issue of Knitters. Check it out - not the best picture (it's the sixth picture from the bottom) but such a cool design. I think I'll be starting that next - it's more of a Fall thing.

Tonight, my husband made me the most amazing birthday dinner - lobster AND steak along with corn and artichokes. Yum. And then, to top if off, Apple Crepes. Yep, I married a keeper. He even had flowers and balloons waiting for me when I got home. : )

I finished my Mohair sweater - and I'm not in LOVE with it. I actually think it may be the buttons, as they could possibly be to heavy for the lightweight mohair. I put it down for now, and will revisit it tomorrow.

Oh - and one last note - I think Mom loved the quilt, and now that she's seen it - I'll post a picture of it. I wanted it to be a surprise until she got to see it in person.
